About us
Who are we ?
Sara and Enola, mother and daughter, have always been passionate about felines! We have been living with domestic cats for more than 20 years but it is only in 2020 that we discovered the Savannah breed. It is after long research that we acquired our first specimen: a male of 1st generation, called Savannah F1. Hybrid of the serval, the Savannah has a wild look but a golden character! He is independent but affectionate, fearless but curious, but above all he is an exceptional animal and faithful to his human.
Having succumbed to its charm, we created the Rag'mès Savannahs cattery in December 2022 specialized in the reproduction of high generation savannahs (F1 and F2). To do this, we had to obtain the following authorizations from our DDPP (departmental directorate for the protection of populations) :
We have also the authorization to use category 3 animal by-products (chicks) for feline feed. Our cattery is registered with TICA (The International Cat Association) and LOOF (Official Book of Feline Origins).
For the sake of animal well-being, we have chosen to opt for a family breeding with a small workforce, thus allowing us to interact with each of our savannahs on a daily basis. Indeed, the savannah is a cat that requires a lot of time so we prefer to have enough time with everyone.
To stand out and offer our buyers kittens that come as close as possible to the desired standard, we select the best lines in the world for our breeding savannahs. In addition, genetics is at the heart of our concerns in order to obtain the most perfect kittens possible, from a point of view of health, appearance and character.
We are a French breeding, located in France, Pays-de-la-Loire, Sarthe.
How are our savannahs installed?
As their wild ancestor - the serval -, savannahs must imperatively have outside enclosures. Our cattery is composed on the one hand of 5 enclosures communicating via a walkway, and on the other hand of a nursery, an infirmary and a quarantine room. Our savannahs also have a free access to our house via a cat flap giving on an enclosure, allowing them to be always near us. Our enclosures are secured and respect the rules of detention for non-domestic felids (galvanized fence, security SAS, traps, padlocks, video surveillance cameras). They are approved by our DDPP.
Details of our installations:

Many enrichments are present in each of the spaces in order to provide entertainment areas necessary for their well-being: games, cat tree, pond with waterfall, fountain, etc. Their comfort being essential in our eyes, we have multiplied the sleeping spaces and shelters. Thus, our savannahs evolve in an optimal living environment!
